Leyendas was composed in March 2023 as two contrasting character pieces for solo piano. The works are linked, portraying a fairy tale world of a majestic castle, a beautiful princess and a raging battle between knights beneath darkened skies.
Through intertwining melodic ideas and a rich, varied harmonic language, the music evokes nostalgia and tranquillity while generating energy and excitement through demanding virtuosic passages.
